GEOSAT, a company specialised in geomatic engineering services, is raising EUR10 million from SOCIETE GENERALE CAPITAL PARTENAIRES, BPIFRANCE and OUEST CROISSANCE. The transaction will help to sustain the strong growth achieved by the company, which is revolutionising the geomatics business with its expertise in 3D data acquisition technologies.
Founded in 2000, GEOSAT, which has reported annual growth of more than 40% since 2013, operates in four business areas:
- Detection of buried networks, to prevent damage and accidents involving sensitive networks while work is being carried out. GEOSAT is the leader in France in this activity;
- 3D scanning and modelling of geometrical data used to produce 3D digital models for building and construction professionals;
- HD mapping of cities, which is required for many Smart City developments. In the field of autonomous transport, HD mapping enables vehicles to analyse their environment more efficiently, enhancing contextual awareness. The map enables vehicles to differentiate between static and dynamic elements, thus contributing to autonomous decision-making;
- Land surveying, applying its technical and legal expertise to the management of land, construction and real estate. Land surveyors advise local authorities, companies, developers, property companies and individuals on managing their space and heritage.
GEOSAT management's aims for the coming years are to sustain robust organic growth by strengthening the company's regional coverage with the opening of several new agencies in France, to accelerate development of the Smart City activity and to expand through acquisitions in France and internationally.
David Cognasse, Investment Director at SOCIETE GENERALE CAPITAL PARTENAIRES: "Aside from the commitment of its teams, GEOSAT stands out from competitors for the quality of its research and development centre, which works on disruptive solutions using Artificial Intelligence and Big Data technologies to process 3D data. We are delighted to support this ambitious team with its projects."
Romain Fourcade, Investment Director at BPIFRANCE: "We have been following GEOSAT for a long time and are very proud to participate in this capital increase by a fast-growing, highly innovative company undergoing significant international development."

This fine company - profitable, innovative and fast-growing - has successfully positioned itself in the high-potential Smart City market, building on its integrated R&D centre and expertise in 3D/4D modelling technology. With the arrival of institutional financial partners as new shareholders, GEOSAT will be able to accelerate the implementation of its strategic development plan and consider opportunities for external growth in France and internationally."
